Friday, May 6th, "Little Shop of Horrors" opens at Western Washington Center for the Arts!  Written by Howard Ashman with music by Alan Menken and directed and choreographed by our friends Dan Estes and Rebecca Ewen, this is the musical about man eating plants that you need in your life.  Tickets and more info are available at wwca.us.

"In the Mix" Returns with a tribute to Elia Kazan

Next week we’ll be toasting the brilliant and versatile director of stage and screen, Elia Kazan with the “East of Eden” tequila cocktail, named after the 1955 John Steinbeck adaptation starring James Dean, Julie Harris and Raymond Massey.  Tune in on our website and YouTube channel.

In his most recent book, author, film critic, film historian, and speaker John DiLeo celebrates remarkable screen performances, shining a uniquely targeted spotlight on artists who created full-blown characterizations within minimal screen time, of ten minutes or less.  John is the author of 7 books about American movies, from his first, And You Thought You Knew Classic Movies: 200 Quizzes For Golden Age Movie Lovers in 1999, to his latest, and the topic of our chat today, There Are No Small Parts: 100 Outstanding Film Performances With Screen Time Of 10 Minutes Or Less, which was just released in February and is available everywhere fine books are sold.  Born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island, John joined us from his home in Milford, Pennsylvania.
